APRIL 5TH CONCERT CANCELED

Dear Supporters, Subscribers, Friends and Ticket Holders,

In order to protect the health and well-being of our singers and the entire concert-going community, the leadership and Board of the St. Louis Chamber Chorus have decided to cancel the April 5th concert at Sts. Joachim & Ann Catholic Church in St. Charles. This was a very hard decision but we felt it was a necessary one. Our primary reason for canceling the concert is to respect the recommendations of doctors, public health workers and local government officials to help reduce the odds of spreading the Covid-19 virus. Another determining factor in our decision was consideration of both our rehearsal space and concert venue, and any additional costs and inconveniences that might have been incurred in order to accommodate us during this pandemic. We also want to stand in solidarity with other cultural institutions in St. Louis including the Repertory Theater, American Chamber Chorale and Bach Society that have announced closures or suspended their seasons in order to comply with our city’s call to limit events over 250 people.

As you are aware, developments surrounding Covid-19 have been changing rapidly. The hard work the singers already devoted to the music for the upcoming concert will not be lost. Our final concert of the season on May 31st will incorporate some of the repertoire from the missed concert. While we are not able to offer refunds for subscribers or individual ticket-holders, we are able to offer ticket holders the choice of a ticket (or tickets) to our May concert at Third Baptist Church, or a ticket voucher for entry to any concert next season excluding the December 2020 performance. In order to request a ticket or voucher, please contact Laura Frank at info@chamberchorus.org or at 636-458-4343.

Thank you in advance for your support. Like you, the health and safety of our singers, audience members, health systems and entire community are at the front of all of our minds. Because we don’t know how long these extraordinary health measures will stay in effect, we have to maintain flexibility and will respond to the facts as they change. Please know how much we look forward to gathering again and sharing in the tonic power of live choral music performance.
