About the Event
Though completed in 1882, Tchaikovsky’s All-Night Vigil (op. 55) was the first written for the Russian Church in the 19th century and served as a paradigm for the next generation. Its resonance is ideally suited to this historically Polish church and demonstrates the intensity of Orthodox repertoire. Anglo-Bulgarian composer Dobrinka Tabakova provides a provocative foil through her new talent steeped in the traditions of Eastern Europe.
Join us for Pastime with Good Company, where collaboration underpins every performance. We have invited some of St. Louis’s finest instrumentalists – on strings and keyboards – to present with us canonical choral works that have typically been outside our repertoire. We celebrate towering figures of classical music this season, while continuing our commitment to women composers and new works. And we go back 'on the road' to explore some of St. Louis's best acoustics in six spectacular venues.
The Saint Louis Chamber Chorus presents the finest a cappella choral works
in the region's most distinctive buildings, seeking to entertain, educate, and inspire.
