Before joining the Chamber Chorus, Laura worked in education, serving dual roles in college counseling and admissions at Whitfield School in St. Louis. Her varied responsibilities included acting as host and marketer of the school; guiding students through the college admission process and overseeing application timelines; and writing, editing and producing recommendation letters and informational guides. In her earlier professional life, Laura worked for a public affairs firm, developing communication and press strategies for companies in California and the Pacific Northwest. Laura holds a B.A. from Franklin & Marshall College, and an M.A. in Sociology from the University of Washington in Seattle, WA.
Raised in St. Louis, Laura has been actively involved in fundraising and event planning for local organizations including The Haven of Grace and College Bound St. Louis. She also served on the Board of the St. Louis Chamber Chorus, and oversaw plans for the choir’s 60th season celebration.
Choral singing is one of the great passions of Laura’s life. She has sung in choirs since she was a child, including more recently the University of Washington Chamber Singers, the former San Francisco Concert Chorale, the Bach Society of St. Louis and the St. Peter’s Episcopal Church Choir. Laura is delighted to serve the St. Louis Chamber Chorus as Executive Director, and is proud of its tradition of innovative programming and first-rate singing.
In addition to music, Laura also enjoys cooking, spending time outdoors, and attempting to keep pace with her three energetic and spirited sons.
